Daily report (2026-07-07)

This was the first in a series of reports where I was (probably) frustrated and decided I would forgo of minimally proper English casing. If reading these reports in sequence, bear with me for a few days.

1. Summary

today work was centered around three things.

i sprinted through the aix module this morning and got to both finish the few changes i intended on making yesterday, as well as finished the pr write up. then i got the one huge patch divided into nicely separate commits and finally opened the pr. there’s nothing new to add to what was already explained in prior reports.

then i got to look through the nuttx pr. i answered a few comments, made some quick fixes, pinged the target maintainers for advice on some recent changes upstream, and removed support for the small memory model.

the last thing i did was to address comments i received on the newlib pr. this is also mostly done. the only thing left is to confirm/update the list of changes. other than that, the fixes were minimal. i did also remove the powerpc module as there’s no supported rust powerpc target using newlib.

2. Blockers

none at present.

3. Plan for the week

the week’s plan has progressed greatly. aix is done and only feedback on the pr remains. the gnu hurd pr has also gotten feedback but i should be done with that tomorrow. with that, i should have finished the first part of my proposal. the second part will address other miscellaneous issues in the 1.0 release track. in all honesty, i’m hoping i can get some actual implementation work done because i’ve had my fill of cross-referecing bindings across upstream targets.
